Description
This seminar will provide board members, superintendents, and district administrators with an understanding of how existing District Codes of Conduct, policies, practices and staff training should be examined so that the District can defend against a discrimination claim. It will also provide them with a framework for reviewing their existing district-wide and school-wide disciplinary policies and practices with a view towards identifying those policies and practices that might be having a disproportionate effect on a particular group of students. The seminar will also provide a basis for considering training to assure compliance with the new emphasis and to detect and address potential civil rights issues.
